CASTALIA The cellphone of a woman connected to one of the people who was with Jacob Limberios when he died was hacked last week,new balance sale, prompting a police investigation.
The woman's phone appears to have been altered so that an outside party could read her text messages and listen in on conversations, said Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth, whose agency is investigating.
The woman, a Sandusky resident,new balance 574 sale, discovered Saturday or Sunday her phone had been compromised, Sigsworth said. She believes it was altered Thursday while she was at the home of Jacob Limberios' parents in Castalia,new balance, Sigsworth said.

Jacob Limberios, 19, of Castalia, died by a gunshot wound to the head on March 2, 2012, at a York Township home.
Sandusky County Coroner Dr. John Wukie ruled his death a suicide, but the case has been reopened and is being investigated as a homicide.
The woman has multiple connections to the case.
She was living at the home where Limberios died, although she was not home that night, said Sandusky County Sheriff's detective Capt. Sean O'Connell. Her daughter,new balance 993 review, Brittany Bowers, of Marblehead, was one of the three witnesses.
Her other daughter, Kayleigh Bowers, and Limberios had a daughter, now 4 years old, together.

A message seeking comment was left for attorney Dan McGookey of Sandusky, who represents Limberios' parents,new balance, Mike and Shannon Limberios.
Greg Majoy, an investigator for M&M Investigative Services of Sandusky who was investigating Limberios' death for the family, said he could not discuss the case because of attorney-client privilege. Nor would he comment on whether he or M&M Investigative Services are still on the case.
Meanwhile, Internet group Anonymous announced Tuesday morning in a news release that it has withdrawn from involvement in the case. Anonymous is a decentralized group of hackers that focuses on various causes.
For the past couple weeks, the group had been questioning Sandusky County's handling of the investigation and advocating for the Limberios family.

Wukie made the ruling without examining the body or going to the scene,new balance shoes. Forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht of Pittsburgh conducted the first autopsy on Limberios last fall and determined the death was a homicide.
Wukie ordered the second exhumation of the body, which took place May 1, for another autopsy as part of the sheriff's office investigation into Limberios' death.

'Anonymous believes that these actions have been so poorly considered and executed that the mere suggestion of our involvement has irreversibly damaged our ability to bring about meaningful change in this case.'
The sheriff's office investigation remains at a standstill while Dr. Cynthia Beisser, a deputy Lucas County coroner, waits to complete her report of the second autopsy.
She cannot do that until she examines tissue samples in Wecht's possession that were taken from Limberios' head.
Wecht does not want to turn the samples over, McGookey has said. Wecht and the Limberioses do not trust Sandusky County and have requested the Ohio Attorney General's Office take over the case,new balance, McGookey has said.
Dean Henry, a special prosecutor for Sandusky County,new balance stores, said he has demanded the tissue samples and is still waiting to receive them. |
