Giving directions
Most cities have maps prepared for people who are visiting for the first time. One important thing to remember is that the top of a map is always the north. That means that when you look at the map, the right is east, the left is west and the bottom is south. The first important thing after that is to find something that will give you a center to work from. This can be a tall building, a park, a church, your hotel, the school or any other place that will help you find everything from that point.
