A simple sentence is a basic sentence with a subject and a verb. It can also have an object.

- begins with a CAPITAL letter and ends with a period (.).
- may be short or long.
- must have a subject and a verb.
- puts the subject before the verb.
- is complete with only a subject and a verb if it is an intransitive verb.
- is incomplete with only a subject and a verb if it is a transitive verb.
- has an “s” at the end of third person verbs (he / she / it).
- can have more than one noun as the subject.
