NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
I’SHUNIQUE HAMILTON, CEDAR HILL, FR.
At state meet: Won gold in the 4x200 relay (1:37.37) and finished fourth in the 100 meters and 4x100 relay.
Notable: The freshman won district, area and regional championships in the 100. She ranked third in the area in the event with a season-best time of 11.71 at the District 7-5A meet. Cedar Hill’s 4x200 relay, in which Hamilton ran the opening leg,Ray Ban Clubmaster, is ranked No. 1 in the nation. It ran a season-best 1:36.42 at the 5A Region I meet in Lubbock.
COACH OF THE YEAR
JUNE VILLERS, DeSOTO
At state meet: Led DeSoto to its second straight 5A state team title with 71 points,Ray Ban Clubmaster.
Notable: Villers just finished her sixth season as coach at DeSoto. For the second year in a row DeSoto won a team title without a single individual or relay gold medal. Last year DeSoto beat out runner-up Garland by four points, 50-46, and this year nearly doubled-up Garland, 71-36, to win the team title. Villers, who graduated from DeSoto in 1991, ran the 1,UK Ray Bans,600, 800 and 4x400 relay as a senior.

LANCASTER’S 4x200 RELAY

At state meet: Coby finished almost two seconds ahead of runner-up Sheldon King despite suffering a leg cramp down the final stretch.
EBONI COBY
LANCASTER,Ray Ban UK, SR.
At state meet: Took gold in the 100 meters for the first time and won second straight gold as the anchor of the 4x200 relay. She also anchored the 4x100 relay that finished fourth.
Notable: Coby qualified for state all four years and won eight medals: five gold, one silver and two bronze.
MARIKA BROWN
LITTLE ELM, SR.
At state meet: Brown took silver in the 100, bronze in the 200 and silver in the 4x100.
Notable: Brown just missed a gold in the 100, losing to Lancaster’s Eboni Coby by five-thousandths of a second.
AALIYAH MILLER
McKINNEY BOYD, FR.
At state meet: Earned silver in the 800 and finished eighth in the 400.
Notable: The freshman ran a season-best 2:10.06 in the 800,Ray Ban Wayfarer.
MARY BETH HAMILTON
HIGHLAND PARK, SR.
At state meet: Won silver in the 800. She ran a season-best 2:13.34,Cheap Ray Bans.
Notable: Hamilton finished three-tenths of a second out of first place and five-tenths of a second ahead of teammate Gabby Crank.
COURTNEY KRIEGSHAUSER
SOUTHLAKE CARROLL, SR.
At state meet: Won gold for the second consecutive year in the 1,600 with a time of 4:51.10.
Notable: Kriegshauser has signed a letter of intent to run for Vanderbilt.
NATALIE RATHJEN
HIGHLAND PARK, JR.
At state meet: Did not finish the 3,200, pulling out because she was having difficulty breathing. She returned for the 1,600 and finished fifth.
Notable: Rathjen won the 3,200 at the 4A Region II meet with a time of 10:46.25.
VICTORIA JOHNSON
MANSFIELD LEGACY, SR.
At state meet: Medaled in both hurdles races, winning silver in the 100 and bronze in the 300.
Notable: Johnson also competed in the long jump and took fourth at the 4A Region II meet.
ANTONISHA STEWART
CARROLLTON RANCHVIEW, SR.
At state meet: Won gold in the 100 hurdles, silver in the 200 and took fourth as part of the 4x100 relay.
Notable: Stewart is a three-time state qualifier, and medaled for the first time this year.
CHRISTINA HARRIS
BISHOP LYNCH,UK Ray Bans, JR.
At state meet: Won gold medals in the shot put and discus for the second year in a row. She won with a throw of 39 feet, 1 inch in the shot put and 126-9 in the discus.
Notable: Harris is the area leader,Ray Ban Clubmaster, in all classifications, in the discus. She threw 139-7 at the Cardinal Relays in April.
ADRIENNE LEWIS
DeSOTO, SR.
At state meet: Improved on her eighth-place finish in 2012 to finish fourth in the 5A shot put with a throw of 44-31/2.
Notable: Lewis will play basketball and run track for Stephen F. Austin.
BRE’YANA WASH
SKYLINE, SR.
At state meet: Won the 5A long jump with a jump of 20-13/4. She also anchored the 4x100 relay to a fifth-place finish,Ray Ban UK Brent Stockstill will attend MTSU after.
Notable: Wash, who took second in the long jump at state last year, signed with Louisville.
ANNA ROBINSON
DeSOTO, SR.
At state meet: In her fourth state meet,Ray Ban Clubmaster, Robinson won silver in the 5A long jump (20-1). She was three-fourths of an inch behind the winner.
Notable: The TCU signee took fourth in the event last year, won gold as a sophomore and silver as a freshman.
CHASSITY LOVE
FRISCO LONE STAR, SO.
At state meet: Won silver medals in the long jump and as anchor of 4x100 relay.
Notable: Love qualified in four events and helped earn her team 25 points on the way to Lone Star’s first 3A team championship,Ray Ban Wayfarer Three Naval Academy football play.
DESIREE FREIER
JUSTIN NORTHWEST, JR.
At state meet: Broke a state meet record for all classifications by vaulting 13-9 to win gold in the 5A pole vault.
Notable: Freier’s vault was a career best,Ray Ban Outlet. She won silver in the event in 2011 and gold in 2012.
